History of the Odessa Branch of AAGU

ODESSA BRANCH OF THE ASSOCIATION OF OBSTETRICIANS AND GYNECOLOGISTS OF UKRAINE

The decision to establish the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Ukraine was made at the X Congress held on September 26, 1996 in Odessa. On January 9, 1997, the public organization was registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

The Odessa branch underwent primary legal registration on 23.09.1998, under № 15561200000 018 656. Certificate A 00 № 267249.

Professor Oleksandr Zelinskyi served as Chairman from its founding until 2019, also serving as Vice-President of the Association.

In 2016, registration was updated in line with legislative changes.

In 2019, Gulsym Manasova was elected Chairwoman — Honored Physician of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at ONMedU.

For 24 years, the Odessa Branch has served as a consolidating, methodological and educational center for obstetricians and gynecologists of the Odessa region.

  • Master classes with international partners on gynecological endocrinology (2004–2007)
  • Quarterly discussion clubs on key issues in obstetrics and gynecology (2011–2018)
  • School of Gynecological Endocrinology (2012–2018)
  • Interregional interdisciplinary conferences with the Mykolaiv branch of AAGU (2012–2017)
  • Congress of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Ukraine with international participation (2011 and 2017, Odessa)
  • VI International Medical Congress and XIV Congress of VULT (Odessa, 2015)
  • Annual New Year and Christmas meetings (2003–2018)
  • Regional educational seminars on obstetrics and gynecology (2019–2021)
  • I interdisciplinary conference dedicated to the memory of Prof. O.O. Zelinskyi (April 2021)
